It is the beginning of a bright new year and hopefully new adventures. Not unlike most of the free world, I made a list of New Year's resolutions. Without further ado, here are mine.
1. Start a blog and post once a week.
I have been toying with the idea of having an anonymous place to talk about my life and experiences. I have adult deficit hyperactivity disorder (AADHD) and bipolar. This came about suddenly and threw my life into a tailspin. There weren't many places online to turn to so here I am to maybe help someone out with what has worked for me.
2. Make a bug out bag
I have recently become an EMT for the state of Texas and really have come to learn the importance of being prepared. This isn't because I am scared of the end of the world or an Apocalypse but because I believe in the fact that shit happens. Being prepared for the worst isn't being paranoid. Posts on the subject to follow.
3. Go to the gym 2 x a week
I am an embarrassing forty pounds overweight. I refuse to be that fat EMT who is huffing and puffing. I don't want to be a bbw lol. This year is meant for being lighter in more ways than one.
4. Pass all of my classes with a B or better
Four years ago I was a perfect straight A student. I then moved to a major university in Austin (you know the burnt orange one) and my world was turned up side down. I am finally back on the right path and starting with baby steps.
5. Have perfect class attendance
ADHD and social anxiety make arriving on time or even walking into class difficult. A year ago I missed 50% of my classes. Last semester I missed one. This is my new goal especially since I have doubled my course load. I think I am up to the challenge.
6. Save $1000
I am the worst when it comes to money and with all my mental issues I was in an agreement with my doctors and parents to not work until I was stable. Well hell ya I've been cleared for a job!
7. Pay off all credit cards and all non school related debts
This is self explanatory. WEll
8. Make at least one personal payment towards my college debt
9. Go to EMS World Expo in New Orleans in October
I want to learn and grow in my profession. A great side effect would be to meet new friends and see new places since I have NEVER traveled anywhere since I was 13 (now 22).
10. Volunteer
I would love to go on a mission trip somewhere internationally but like I said baby steps. I would love to get into Search and Rescue missions.
Hopefully you made it through this post with out falling asleep. If you feel like joining on the Resolution train too, drop me a line. Looking forward to this new year's journey. Blessings to all.
Love yall,
